TC announces the arrival of its new smartphone with "rezounding" Beats on the Yahoo! Sports homepage
HTC is plugging (in) its new Rezound smartphone with an integrated marketing campaign that includes a sponsorship of BET's "106 & Park," a partnership with The Fader that resulted in remixes only available on HTC's Facebook pageā¦and a creative takeover on a certain exclamation-pointed digital canvas.
That guy walking out into the middle of your Sports page is experiencing his playlist like he's never experienced it before, courtesy of the new Beats Audio technology only available on the Rezound.
The Beats blow a hole through the page to reveal the Rezound with a pair of those distinctive red Beats ear buds.
The ad retracts and leaves your ringing ears with a 300 x 250 panel on the right, as well as an expandable banner along the top. Clicking "expand" brings back the Rezound, this time with the smartphone's screen showing a cityscape superimposed with captions that let you explore the features of this unBeatable device.
In between captions, you get to watch the city around you get Beaten to a pulp in a visually striking manner that might remind you of "Inception." And that's no coincidence. Those images are taken from a TV ad designed and executed by the same magicians behind the blockbuster film's aesthetically pleasing explosions.
